This creative, hands-on workshop explores the process of cross-processing E-6 (slide) film in C-41 chemistry, resulting in bold color shifts, increased contrast, and beautifully unpredictable images.
Participants will bring one fully shot roll of E-6 film and take part in a guided, group development session using standard C-41 chemistry. The workshop will cover what cross-processing is, why photographers use it, what to expect from the results, and how to scan and work with cross-processed negatives.
This class emphasizes experimentation over precision and encourages participants to embrace the unexpected as part of the creative process.
Duration: 3–4 hours
Level: Intermediate
What to bring: One fully shot roll of E-6 (slide) film
Prerequisite: Participants should already be familiar and comfortable with developing C-41 color film on their own. We recommend taking Color Film 101: Introduction to C-41 Processing.
Suggested Donation: A suggested $25 donation helps cover chemistry and material costs. Donations are always optional, and no one will be turned away due to ability to pay.
